Gucci GUC Washed Embossed Denim Shirt-Jacket 2025

Seven processes, one denim surface. This Gucci GUC Washed Embossed Denim Shirt-Jacket is the product of a multi-stage wash and finishing system that builds the surface character of the denim through successive physical and chemical treatments applied in a precise sequence — the surface that looks like wear but is the result of craft. The base fabric is light vintage blue washed cotton denim — the light, bright indigo wash that reads as faded and characterful. The defining visual detail is the two-tone panel construction through selective wash intensity: the body panels (front body, back body, yoke) are treated to a heavier wash and fade to a lighter, more bleached indigo, while the sleeves retain a darker, less-faded indigo — the deliberate panel color contrast achieved through selective wash application rather than different fabrics, the wash as a design tool rather than a finishing step.

The wash and finishing process is a seven-stage system. Stage 1: gradient spray (喷马溜) — the initial dye-removal spray applied to the denim surface to establish the primary gradient color distribution across the fabric panels. Stage 2: hand-rub gradient development — manual hand-rubbing to develop and refine the gradient, producing the natural, uneven character that distinguishes hand-developed gradient from mechanical application. Stage 3: stamping/emboss fill with foam padding (冲压泵泡棉) — a stamping technique that fills and reinforces specific areas of the denim with cushioning foam material, adding dimensional structure to the fabric surface. Stage 4: heat-glue gun sealing — the sealing of the foam fill areas with a heat-activated adhesive to fix the dimensional treatment in place. Stage 5: sand-tumble hand-rub (炒沙手擦) — the combination of sand tumbling and manual hand-rubbing that produces the natural surface fade, the slight surface abrasion that reads as authentic wear character rather than mechanical distressing. Stage 6: manual physical distressing with custom tools — pure hand-finishing using custom-made tools to introduce physical surface damage at precise points, the distressing that preserves the fabric’s original texture and structural integrity while adding its unique character. Stage 7: heavy wash and abrasion bleach process — the final heavy wash that produces the overall lightened, abraded surface and the characteristic two-tone panel contrast in the finished garment. Custom hardware throughout. Oversized relaxed fit. Point collar, left chest patch pocket, button front, long sleeves with adjustable cuffs. The Gucci washed embossed denim shirt-jacket: seven processes, one surface.
