Three processes, one surface. These Acne Studios Ink Splash Distressed Wide-Leg Jeans are built on raw selvedge denim and treated through three distinct surface processes — each one applied independently, each one visible in the finished garment, the layering of the three creating a surface that reads as both painterly and worn simultaneously.

Process one: gradient wash. The charcoal/black ground is washed to produce a dramatic grey-to-black gradient — lighter grey at the upper thigh, deepening progressively to jet black at the hem. The gradient is directional and atmospheric, the tonal shift reading as light falling on the garment rather than a wash applied to it.

Process two: textile-grade paint spray. White and silver ink splash and paint spray marks are applied using textile-specific spray paint — the marks concentrated on the front left thigh and scattered across both legs, the spray producing a hand-painted quality: directional, irregular, the marks reading as gesture rather than pattern. The textile paint bonds to the denim surface without stiffening the hand feel, the color sitting in the fabric rather than on top of it.

Process three: hand-positioned abrasion destruction. Targeted hand abrasion on the front thighs — each abrasion mark positioned manually, the friction applied by hand to specific areas of the fabric surface, the resulting wear marks natural and irregular in a way that machine abrasion cannot replicate.
